Throughout a human life we pass through many transformations: from child to young adolescent, adolescent, young adult, adult, mature age, the beginnings of old age, old age, and — for those granted a long life — advanced old age, until illness and death finally arrive.
In all these phases the body changes, the mind changes, the world around us changes. Yet one thing remains untouched: our Self‑awareness. This Self‑awareness, present when we were children, is still the same now. It has not aged, not been altered, not been marked by time. It simply remains — quiet, clear, inviolate.
For this reason the wise say that, since our Self‑awareness remains unchanged through all stages of life, death cannot alter it either. It remains what it has always been: unstained, untouched, unchanging, and eternal.
With our best wishes for profound peace,
